Yucca stealthily eyeballs the windows of the Sleeping-Giant-Inn. Sees people huddled around a lamp, dirty scarlet trench coats, and a painted torch symbol.
Toblen, points at "the owner does not take responsibility for stolen carts", things aren't robbed. Redbrands likes to watch them squirm in public. We take the valuables in with us and Lork-Faithstone has it.
Inside: 3 stars inn, clean but old. A bunch of locals speaking, humans, dwarves and gnomes. Sildur-Hallwinter pays for rooms for us and meals.
Human woman sat on own, looking sus with hood pulled up. Playing with a switchblade.
Yucca is sitting at the table, gets up with a drink and goes towards the woman. Meets her gaze and stops playing with the knife.
Yucca recognises the colour scheme and symbol on, its a dull yellow, has the symbol of a downwards-facing dragon chasing a falling object.
Yucca says Zintarin, another woman stabs a knife where Yucca's hand was and says, "they're having trouble teaching recruits about keeping their lips shut", "I have no trouble keeping my lips shut". "Didn't know they were sending more", "Phandalin is a boring place, nothing going on here", "Redbrands are livening things up a bit". Yucca about her being in contact, shakes head "No, but I was thinking about getting in contact with them" and emphasises by stabbing the table. "They are thugs, nothing complicated". Leader Glasstaff, he has a little more (taps side of head), controls them. "Perhaps cut the head off the hydra", waiting for them to get influence, get power. Points at Sildur-Hallwinter, "those guys are dumb enough to do it for money", they talk about getting them to do it for free. Dry bark laughs at saving them from goblin's. They've been here for a year, can't work things out because Redbrands are messing things up.
Yucca questions her abilities; she doesn't take the bait. "Recruits like you always look at the easy solutions. No point being the shadows if you keep sticking your feet out. They think I'm starting a miners-exchange". She leans closer, "Who do you think started the gold rush?". Question why they'd not have all the power. Suggests they don't get anyone of interest around these parts (alliance).
Asks about anything else of interest, "When you get to dealing with Glasstaff, rumours that he was Lords-Alliance, possibly higher influence here"
Female elf with bright hair and skin, chatting animatedly to a half-ling woman and pointing at a paper.
Tehazysh goes to talk to them, they're talking about a druid that recently got lost, pointing at the map, trying to work out where he might have gone. Stop talking, and engage with me by saying, "It's unusual to see our kind around here".
Speaking Common, because Tehazysh didn't freeze, swaps to Elvish, Sister-Garaele and Qelline, explains what they're doing, and questions if Tehazysh knows the area.
Tehazysh recalls that there are ruins in the woods, but doesn't remember a specific tree.
Ask where they last knew him to be, set out just west of Phandalin, been a couple of days, assumed something's happened because it's been a while.
Blames Redbrands, halfling questions it because they're stupid, elf suggests more influence.
They give a copy of the map with some details on it. They live in the town. Elf at Shrine-of-Luck, halfling Alderleaf-Farm.
Sildur-Hallwinter notices some other older gentleman, smiles, and waves at the guy.
He comes over. He has slightly pointed ears and eyebrows, grabs his arm, and Sildur-Hallwinter said "Daran I thought you retired", he said, "I did, but the situation being as it is right now, they don't have many hands to help them out".
Start talking about Redbrands. Hideout under the Tresendar-Manor doesn't have the manpower to deal with it.
Daran gets a twinkle in his eye, "You have a fighting spirit in you". "Well, they can certainly use the sharp end of a stick", Sootstep says, "I can't use a weapon, only these", and kisses biceps. "Imagine what you could do with steel in your hands".
Quite a few of them are interested in taking it on, asks if Sildur-Hallwinter is travelling with others, "unfortunately".
